NOS Alive 2015

Will you be in Lisbon between 9 and 11 of July?

You will have the opportunity to attend the ninth edition of the festival NOS Alive 2015!

NOS Alive is a music festival which takes place in the Passeio Marítimo de Algés, Oeiras, Lisbon. Despite its recent creation (the first edition was in 2007), this festival has already won several awards: in Portugal, 2014, Nos Alive won four awards in the categories voted by the public in Portugal Festival awards, including Best Urban Festival, Best Large Dimension Festival, Best Baths and Best Live Perfomance (Artic Monkeys, July 10. Tickets for this day sold out one month before the start of the festival). NOS Alive was also nominated for the two most prestigious industry awards, the European Festival Awards for"Best Major Festival" and "Best Overseas Festival".

Many more to be annouced

How to get to NOS Alive?

The best way to get there is by subway and train. Get the subway to “Cais Sodré” station. At “Cais Sodré” get the train to “Algés”- all trains stop in “Algés” train station. The Algés station is a minute's walk from the entrance of the festival. During festival days, the train runs 24 hours a day and during night you can catch it every 30 minutes. Do not go by car because it is very difficult to park in here.

Festival Map and Prices

Here is a map of NOS Alive 2014, we believe that this year's is going to be very similiar. The festival has several restaurant areas and prices go from 4 to 8 euros per dish. The food is the same as in any other festival: burguers, sandwiches, pizza.. Fast food.
However, if you dont want to spend money on food, you can bring homemade sandwiches! The security team allows that, but you can't bring more elaborate food or drinks.
The beer, a glass of wine, water or juices cost 2 euros.

A comida aqui é igual a qualquer outro festival: hamburguers, sandes, pizzas..

10 Reasons to visit Lisbon

1 - The Culture

Mosteiro dos Jerónimos - Belém

Lisbon is the second oldest capital in Europe, just after Athens, and it is one of the world's greatest historical cities. What truly makes the city unique is its history. Portuguese culture is based on a past that dates from prehistoric times to the eras of the Roman as Moorish invansions.
Some of the most important monuments, like Jeronimos Monastery, Belém Tower, or the St.George's Castle can be found in the old historical center of the city.
The city also maintain its traditions, like Fado and Lisbon's cultural events.

2 - Portuguese Hospitality

The Portuguese people welcome diversity and love meeting new people. If you need any information or direction, just ask some local people and they will help you right away. The portuguese poeple are very hospitable and love to help everyone with a friendly smile.

                                            3- The Weather

Portugal has over 3,000 hours of sun per yer.

With a mild Mediterranean climate, Lisbon is the perfect place to spend lots of time outdoors. In the summer, temperatures in Lisbon average out at around 26-28ºC. In the winter temperatures in Lisbon average out at around 8-20ºC.

4 -The Portuguese food

Lisbon has one of the best cuisines in the world, where you can eat a little bit of everything for a good price. You must try the famous Portuguese Stew, a bifana (a steak sandwich) accompanied by a beer, all kinds of seafood, and, of course, the famous custard tart. The average price for a meal with starter, main course, dessert and wine is 15 euros per person, but you can find places that are cheaper.

5 - Lisbon Nightlife

Bairro Alto by night

At night there are several different clubs and bars to go dance or to have a drink. You can go to Bairro Alto or Rua Cor de Rosa (in Cais do Sodre) and have fun between the different streets that exist there. The street bars close at around two in the morning, and the prices ranged from one euro and 7 euros. A beer or a shot costs around one euro, white spirits like vodka or caipirinhas cost around 5 euros. The most expensive drinks are called "buckets":  a liter of white drink with juice for 7 euros.
The nightclubs in Lisbon usually have minimum mandatory consumption, between 6 and 20 euros. The drinks in the disco cost between 4 euros (a beer) and 8 euros (a white drink). The night in Lisbon starts late, and the clubs only begin to fill at around 2 am and close at 6am.

6 - Value

Lisbon is considered one of the cheapest cities in Europe - oficially Western Europe's least expensive capital.

7 - Beaches and Surf

Costa da Caparica

What about beaches? Well, in Lisbon you have two main coasts both about 20 mins away that are really beautiful and paradisiacal. If you cross the 25 de Abril bridge, you will find Costa da Caparica right away, with more than 10 extraordinary beaches along it with very clear water and clear sand. If you prefer to stay in the north side of the bridge you can just take the train and also go to very beautiful and clean beaches along Linha de Cascais.

8 - The Typical Neighborhoods

You will get to know the true essence of Lisbon as you start to explore the oldest neighborhoods like Alfama. You will find seductive corners, narrow streets, where it is possible to forget time and discover the secrets of the past.

9 - Safety

Yellow Electric

Lisbon is one of the safest capitals of all Europe. But you have to be careful with the pickpockets that are always looking for distracted people for an opportunity to take your belongings. Always be alert!

10 - Beautiful Sights

Lisbon offers some of the most incredible view points of the World!
